Scrappy Angels: Our First Viking Classic
Three days of Tennessee baseball. Ten determined Angels. A whole lot of heart.
What a weekend for HC Baseball!
Our Angels headed to Tennessee for their first Viking Classic, ready for three days of baseball against public-school competition. They came with heart, grit, and determination—and plenty of that HC spirit we love so much!
Thursday, March 28 — Let’s Play Ball!
We opened the Viking Classic against Hubbard High School at Shelbyville Central High School. A new opponent, another chance to compete, and a great start to a busy Tennessee weekend!

Friday, March 29 — Scrappy Angels Make an Impression
Friday brought the Angels to Forrest High School in Chapel Hill, where our boys triumphed over Clarksville Northwest with Wade on the mound!
After the game, Coach Clay was approached by the head coach of Forrest High School. He told Clay how much he loved watching our team play. They were scrappy, he said, and he wanted to get the Angels on his schedule!
What a compliment for this team! It’s one thing for us to know how much heart our boys have. It’s something special when another high-school coach sees it from across the field, too.
Scrappy. Gritty. Determined.
That’s our Angels!

And we weren’t the only ones watching the game! Mr. Champion and one of our biggest furry fans, Steve the dog, were keeping an eye on the action from the outfield. We couldn’t resist getting a picture!

Saturday, March 30 — Playing with Heart
Saturday took us to Cannon County High School for games against Alexandria and Blackford High School. Our Angels were ready to get back out there and play some more baseball!
We brought ten Angels to Tennessee, and every one of them came ready to compete. They played with heart, grit, and determination, encouraging each other and giving their all through a full weekend of baseball. We couldn’t have been prouder of the way they represented HC.
Saturday — Angels in Action

One of our favorite moments: the Angels coming together in prayer.

And after watching these ten boys give so much of themselves on the field, there was only one way to say it:
The best hearts in baseball!

Memories Beyond the Diamond
There are so many moments to remember from a tournament weekend—the conversations, the time together, and the little things that make being part of this team special.

Coach Clay and His Angels
Through it all, Coach Clay is right there with the boys—preparing them to play, encouraging them, and bringing everyone together. That’s HC Baseball.

Weekend Highlights
We put together a couple of videos to remember our first Viking Classic. Enjoy some more of our Angels in action!
Three days of baseball, a victory over Clarksville, and a group of Angels whose heart and hustle made an impression on another high-school coach. What a weekend at our first Viking Classic!
We’re heading home with great memories and plenty to be proud of.
Go Angels! Go HC!
