HC Baseball — Building HERITAGE

Honor • Effort • Respect • Integrity • Trust • Accountability • Growth • Excellence

The best hearts in baseball

HC Baseball provides homeschooled high school athletes the opportunity to play competitive baseball in a positive, team-centered environment. Based in the Birmingham area, we compete against homeschool, private, and public-school programs throughout Alabama and the surrounding region.

Our season includes Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball, with games beginning in late February or early March and continuing into May. We play a competitive schedule that includes regular-season games, tournaments, and championship opportunities.

Follow HC Baseball throughout the season. Our schedule updates automatically as games are added or changed.

HC Baseball was built to give homeschool athletes more than a place to play. It is a place to compete, grow, build lasting relationships, and become part of a program with a history and purpose bigger than any one season.

Building HERITAGE means carrying Honor, Effort, Respect, Integrity, Trust, Accountability, Growth, and Excellence into everything we do. Those values shape how we prepare, how we compete, how we treat one another, and how we represent our team, our families, and our faith.

We love to compete, and we work to win. But some of the most important things our players carry with them will never appear in a box score: the confidence that comes from doing hard things, the friendships built beside teammates, the lessons learned through success and adversity, and the pride of knowing they helped add their own chapter to HC Baseball.

What It Means to Be an Angel

Pursue Excellence

HC gives players the opportunity to test themselves through strong competition, purposeful coaching, and meaningful preparation. We want each athlete to discover what he is capable of and continue reaching for his best.

Grow Together

Baseball gives us countless opportunities to learn — through hard work and accomplishment, but also through mistakes, setbacks, and adversity. Our coaches invest in helping players grow not only as athletes, but as teammates, leaders, and young men.

Carry the Heritage

Putting on an HC uniform means becoming part of a story that began long before one season or one team. Every Angel receives something built through years of vision, sacrifice, friendship, perseverance, and love for the game — and each has the opportunity to leave something meaningful for those who come next.

NACA National Champions — 2016 • 2019 • 2025

HC Baseball has a proud history of competing successfully at the national level, including NACA National Championships in 2016, 2019, and 2025. Those championships span nearly a decade of HC Baseball and represent far more than three successful seasons. They reflect years of preparation, perseverance, teamwork, and commitment from players, coaches, and families who poured themselves into this program.

Each championship team was different, and each added its own chapter to the story of HC Baseball. Along the way, our players have learned to prepare with purpose, compete with confidence, respond to adversity, and represent their team with pride. The trophies mark special victories, but the tradition has been built season after season by everyone who has helped carry HC Baseball forward.

HC Baseball was founded with a simple purpose: to give homeschool athletes the opportunity to compete, grow, and belong to something bigger than themselves. Coach Clay built HC Baseball from the ground up, driven by his love of baseball, his commitment to young men, and his belief that the way you play the game matters just as much as the final score.

That foundation continues to shape HC Baseball today. Coach Clay’s influence is still woven through this program—in the standards we hold, the traditions we protect, and the opportunities we continue to create for homeschool athletes. As HC grows, we are not simply preserving what came before us. We are building on it, carrying it forward, and giving each new group of players the opportunity to add something of their own to the heritage of HC Baseball.
