A Special Thank You

There is a little irony in all this.

Drake, Wade, and Kent spent Thursday putting in hours of hard, physical work getting Tippy ready to play — pulling weeds, working the infield by hand with hoes, mowing, cleaning up, and doing the kind of work that most people never see.

We are also incredibly grateful to the Meisner family for loaning us a mower when ours broke, and to Abbie and Drake for making the trip to Huntsville so the job could be finished.

They worked in dry, dusty conditions all day getting the field ready. A few hours later, the rain started.

Of course it did.
